Dance Descriptions

PRICING: All one hour classes are $70. All 45 min classes are $65

Preschool Tap/Ballet 

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Preschool classes are designed to introduce young dancers to the fundamentals of dance through fun Ballet and Tap exercises. Students will be beginning the process of learning choreography and basic coordination with short combinations.

Preschool classes ages are 3-5 years old.  This particular class will perform two routines during recital.

 

Hip Hop

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Hip Hop offers street dance styles that are performed not only in hip hop culture but also mainstream entertainment.  This class focuses on the musicality of the movements and performance elements.

Ballet

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Ballet is the critical foundation to all forms of dance.  It is a highly technical and disciplined class with it's own vocabulary base on French terminology.  Students will learn correct body placement while also improving strength and flexibility.  

Tap

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Tap classes help dancers learn a sense of rhythm, coordination, precision, and develops an alert mind.  Classes will teach basic techniques and weekly floor combinations that will enhance any dancers timing and rhythm.

Jazz

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Jazz class is great for those who want to improve their skills as a dancer.  This class emphasizes targeted stretching, conditioning exercises, and across the floor combinations. 

 

Contemporary

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Contemporary is an expressive style of dance that incorporates ballet, jazz, and modern dance.  Unpredictable changes in rhythm, speed and direction are often used.  Dancers are able to convey the lyrics as they use their bodies as an expression of thought.

 

Strength/Conditioning

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Strength/Conditioning is recommended for both performance and recreational dancers.  This class is great for improving both athletic performance and general health by emphasizing functional movement by training endurance, strength, flexibility, power, agility and balance.

This class is a recreational class and will be offered year-round.  No recital.
